The Navel Chakra, Manipura, literally translated as City of Gems, is located in the area of the navel. The commonly related fire element connects the chakra with qualities such as will-power, confidence, courage and an ardent desire for achievement and leadership. Shadow aspects of Manipura appear to be anger and aggression as well as arrogance, a lack of tact and the drive for power at the expense of others. Tapas and Karma Yoga are good remedies for these imbalances, as well as the simple exposure to fire and sun.
