A few words about us
In this modern world there is a widespread sense of separation. People often struggle to find authentic connection to themselves, others and their environment, making them feel isolated & meaningless.
If this continues, humanity won’t fulfil its potential and will continue to live in a dull and divided world obsessed with self-destruction.
Yoga is connection and intimacy with breath & life.
We provide a safe & dedicated space for people to truly immerse into Yoga, loving community and a new way of being; so that people can wake up every day full of purpose, love and a profound trust in life.
Some words on our history
The training is led by Kirsten & Burkhard, the directors of the Akasha Yoga Academy. They are supported by Devdas, who has been practicing Yoga for 35 years. Devdas is an advanced yet humble master, who has been teaching Yoga, Pranayama & Meditation in India for more than 12 years.
Kirsten & Burkhard both draw from more than 15 years of full-time research & practice. They each have more than 5000 hours of intensive teaching experience and continuously inspire others with their dedicated life-style. They have been living in Asia since 2007, and have had the opportunity to study full-time under various eminent spiritual & academic teachers.
During more than 4000 hours of committed education, they have explored Ashtanga Vinyasa, Hatha & Kundalini Yoga, Pranayama, Ayurveda, Yoga Sutras, Sanskrit, Mindfulness Meditation, and alignment, cultivating personal connections with superb teachers like BNS Iyengar, AG & Indra Mohan, Mark Whitwell, Christopher Wallis, Reinhard Gammenthaler, and many others.
Their classical style of authentic Hatha Yoga is mostly influenced by the lineage of Krishnamacharya, Desikachar & Whitwell, as well as the Sivananda related Bihar School of Yoga.
